ABOUT THE ENTERTAINERS

Freddy

In 2005, Freddy submitted a song that triggered a fierce bidding war among record labels and in the end, landed him the single largest recording contract of the year.  Then without warning, a voice mail message changed his life completely and profoundly. The record company had merged with another, and "nothing personal," he was unceremoniously dumped.

When Kidd Kraddick, from the national syndicated morning show, heard Freddy's song, "Defying Gravity" on MySpace, he knew he had happened upon something special. On Friday April 25th, Kidd called Freddy live on the air and offered him the chance to perform on Kidd Kraddick in the Morning in Dallas.  Freddy spent the following week bouncing from Kidd Kraddick in the Morning affiliate stations across the country, performing in parking lots and begging for gas money and finally made it to Dallas.

Argentine Tango

Argentine tango has thrilled dancers for more than 100 years and is loved for its beauty, passion, drama, and excitement. The essence of Argentine tango is about our life expressed through dance, especially the relationship between a man and a woman. Performed by Tango Argentine Dallas.

Emerald School of Irish Dance

J.K. Wong Kungfu Tai Chi Academy - Lion Dance Team
Hundreds of years ago, a small Chinese village was threatened on the eve of the Lunar New Year by local bandits who dressed themselves as strange beasts. The beasts scared the villagers away and looted their homes and farmland. Frightened and discouraged, the villagers decided to stand up to the unknown beast and crafted costumes that resembled a lion. While dancing in the costumes, the villagers hit pots and pans and scared away the bandits. This eventually led them to believe that the Lion Dance wards off bad luck, scared away evil spirits and ushers in good luck. The costumed dance is now performed at times of celebration as a form of thanksgiving and is presented at Taste Addison courtesy of May Dragon.
