Join the Turkish American Association of Northern Texas (TURANT) in exploring the real stories that bring the Turkish culture, music, dance and arts to life at WorldFest. Experience first-hand the hospitality that defines the Turkish culture as you sip Turkish coffee, listen to stories passed on for generations and watch an authentic Turkish Belly Dancer and HOY-TUR, the world famous folk dance troupe direct from Turkey.

TurkFest Highlights

   -  We have brought together calligraphy, ceramic and pottery artists and musicians, a belly dancer from Turkey and the United States to introduce DFW to the rich artistry that exemplifies all things Turkish, as well as offering Turkish kebabs, baklava, Turkish coffee and tea for a taste of Turkish cuisine.

   -  First 500 visitors will have a chance to win two Turkish Airlines tickets to Turkey.

   -  Free Turkey shirts for the first 100 visitors on Saturday from Noon-1:00 PM.

   -  Turkish Children's Activities: Share Turkish culture, tradition and values through fun activities where kids can learn by exploring and creating with a variety of hands-on arts and crafts activities. While they are participating in educational, fun activities they will also have an opportunity to build and bring home their own artistic creations.

   -  Caferaga Medresseh Handcraft Center and Workshops: Learn artistic techniques of marbling, Turkish tile, ceramic and Tezhip art from Turkish artists.

   -  Live Pottery Show by Bahri Bulut: Bahri performs live shows demonstrating the process of making traditional Turkish clay pottery. His show is referred to as a "don’t miss experience" by visitors of the events he attends. Bahri’s workshop can easily be spotted on the festival grounds.

HOY-TUR Turkish Folk Dance Ensemble
HOY-TUR was established by five students as an amateur club in 1970 in order to teach the Turkish culture with its real quality in a scientific way. This highly-acclaimed group has received numerous awards, including 5 World Championship awards, 9 Turkey Championship awards and has performed over 3,000 times on 5 continents. They will be performing Horon, whirling dervishes, Turkish Kina Gecesi, Ciftelli, Adiyaman, Zeybek and more.

HOY-TUR will be visiting local schools after performing at WorldFest. Thank you to Smith Limo for providing the transportation to the schools.
