Volunteer Opportunities

Our main volunteer activities include:

• Special Events - This is a great way to have fun and give back to the community!  Volunteering for Special Events includes staffing various booths, assisting with family-friendly activities and/or after event clean-up.  In return for your time, you will receive tickets to the event, a T-shirt, and other goodies. Upcoming events for 2024 are:
  • Taste Addison June 1st and 2nd
  • Kaboom Town July 3^rd 
  • Oktoberfest September 19th-22nd
• Clean-up events- We periodically have events to clean up parks and trails in the community.  We also ask for assistance with cleaning up the community garden.
• Office coverage – The volunteer covers the phones and greets visitors when staff has training or an event to attend.
• Administrative work – Before an Addison event - can include work such as stuffing envelopes or folding T-shirts.  Other administrative duties depends on department requests.  Can include shredding, sorting paperwork and/or scanning.
• Theater – Volunteering may be directing traffic in the parking lot or usher duties.

Volunteers go through an application process, background check, and training.  We make volunteer opportunities known via an email, and volunteers sign up to participate in events that interest them.
