Santa & Mrs. Claus Came to Town …. (of Addison)

Addison Circle Park rang in the holidays for Addison residents with the annual Holiday in the Park event on Sunday, December 3. Festivities included pictures with Santa (and Mrs. Claus), breakfast catered by Blue Mesa, live pony rides, inflatables, balloon art, face painting, stilt walking characters, arts and crafts, and photo ops throughout the park. The Elf Market made its debut, showcasing kid entrepreneurs who set up and sold their items for all the visitors. The Parks & Recreation Department brought out their Activity Trailer, Public Works & Engineering decked out a bucket truck and backhoe with lights and decorations, and Development Services provided games, an activity wheel, and giveaways. Finally, the DART Silver Line team provided coloring books for all!

Over 380 pictures with Santa were snapped, close to 1,000 hot breakfast plates served, and over 1,800 cups of Dutch Bros hot chocolate and coffee were given out. Many thanks to our volunteers who helped work the event, Dutch Bros for providing complimentary hot beverages, and to the many residents who came to celebrate the season.

This year marked the 30th anniversary of the Town's resident holiday brunch. Over the past three decades, there have been two constants at the event: Mrs. Claus, aka former Council Member Mary Dolan, and our photographer Chris Kraft. We would like to extend a special thank you to them for sharing their time and talents with the Addison community over these many years. Together they have played an important role in creating holiday memories for generations of Addison residents.
