It is almost mosquito season again! To help control mosquitoes on your property and reduce the possibility of mosquito-borne diseases, the Town's Environmental Health Division will be distributing free mosquito dunks and repellant for Addison residents at the Athletic Club, Town Hall, and the Service Center beginning April 8. Mosquito Dunks are small, donut-shaped disks that float on the surface of standing or stagnant water on your property and release bacteria that kill mosquito larvae in the water. A single dunk will cover an area of about 100 square feet.

Addison will begin mosquito sampling the first week of May. Samples are collected on Thursday evening and delivered to the Dallas County Health and Human Services lab on Friday morning. Results are usually available by noon the following Monday.

Fogging is performed when a mosquito sample tests positive for West Nile Virus (WNV). Residents will be notified in advance through signage in the neighborhood, notices on social media and the Town's website, and texts generated through the Addison Alert Program. If we can't reach you, we can't alert you, so register today!
